Alfonso Sa Terriza

Alfonso Sa Terriza is a new PhD student at the Department of English and Linguistics of the University of Lleida (UdL). After graduating with a degree in English Studies (University of Malaga), he decided to continue his studies through a Double Master’s Degree in Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching / English Studies, Multilingual and Intercultural Communication (University of Malaga). After receiving the predoctoral scholarship for his studies at the University of Lleida, he joined the ELFING project (Development of Language Ideologies in the training of pre-service English Language Teachers from an ELF perspective [PID2022-137554NB-I00]). His thesis hopes to explore the social construction of ideologies, conceptions and stereotypes about the English language in the educational context, with the goal of challenging established narratives which are detrimental to the development of the English language and its speakers.
